SOUTH ORANGE — The Jersey Animal Coalition in South Orange will be closing its doors Tuesday, Nov. 11. In recent correspondence with the News-Record, JAC president and founder Ruth Perlmutter wrote that JAC has been able to find “safe haven” for all its remaining cats; however, seven dogs still need homes. Perlmutter urges residents to step forward to take in these dogs to prevent them from being sent to Associated Humane of Newark, a kill shelter.
