MAPLEWOOD — Inspired by Isaiah Sheffer’s Selected Shorts at Symphony Space, Celebrity Readings is an evening of storytelling; great short stories are ‘performed’ by celebrated Broadway players.
This year’s Celebrity Readings features Zach Grenier, John Amos and Emily Zacharias. The event will take place on Monday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Columbia High School Auditorium in Maplewood.
Zach Grenier currently plays the ethically challenged David Lee on “The Good Wife.” Tony-nominated for “33 Variations” opposite Jane Fonda, Grenier has created roles in many of NY’s most provocative new plays.
John Amos is a veteran of classic TV shows from the popular “Good Times” to the critically praised “Roots.” Onstage, he is known for his performances in plays by August Wilson, Athol Fugard and Shakespeare.
Maplewood resident Emily Zacharias directs Celebrity Readings. Working as an actor in New York and in regional theater, she also develops new plays with The Workshop Theater in New York City.
Tickets for Celebrity Readings are $25 and can be purchased at http://www.ssreg.com/som/classes/results.asp?string=Celebrity+Readings or by calling 973-378-7620.
